CEP: Asia-Pacific Market Recap: Fixed Income Mixed, Equities Close Higher
(CEP News) - Asia-Pacific fixed income markets are mixed and equities closed higher with yields on Australian 10-year bonds down 10.3 bps to 5.44% and Japanese 10-year government bonds up 5.5 bps to 1.59%.
Sydney's S&P ASX 200 closed up 154.50 points to 4335.2.
The Japanese Nikkei closed up 1171.14 points to 9447.57 and the Hang Seng up 715.67 points to 17027.83.
Yields on three-year Australian bonds were up 4.3 bps to 5.61 and the Australian 90-day March 09 contract was down 17.0 ticks to 95.28.
The Euroyen March 09 contract was down 3.5 ticks to 99.23.
The Australian dollar was up 1.06 cents to 0.7092 against the USD and up 0.48 cents to 0.8064 against the Canadian dollar.
Against the yen, the U.S. dollar was up 0.41 points to 102.43 and the Canadian dollar was up 1.17 points to 90.07.
