The 30-share BSE index ended down 5.87 percent at 10,809.12
points and the 50-share NSE index ended down 5.12 percent at
3,338.40 points, as fears resurfaced about tight liquidity
conditions and looming economic recession.

GOVERNMENT BONDS -------------------------------
The 2018 bond yield at 7.90 percent, compared with 7.94 at
its previous close, as traders await fresh measures from the
central bank later in the day.
RUPEE --------------
The rupee was at 48.425/48.435 per dollar, from the
previous close of 48.04/48.06, weighed down by worries of
accelerated outflow of foreign funds and offshore dollar
demand.
INTEREST RATE SWAPS INROIS

The benchmark five-year interest rate swap at 7.00/7.05
percent.
CALL MONEY --------------------
Call money rate at 9.00/9.25 percent, from previous close
of 8.75/9.00 percent, as central bank's dollar sales in the
currency market drained funds with banks.
GOLD <0#MAU:>

The December contract on the Multi Commodity Exchange of
India at 13,182 rupees, up 103 rupees from the previous close.
