RTRS: FOREX-Dollar falls as data stokes recession fears
NEW YORK, Oct 15 (Reuters) - The dollar fell against the yen on Wednesday as a steep slide in September retail sales left investors worried the government's $250 billion injection into troubled banks may not keep the economy out of recession.
The dollar fell to session lows against the yen at 100.88 , from about 101.20 before the data. It was down 1.2 percent compared with late Tuesday. The euro also fell 1.3 percent to 137.45 yen and slipped 0.1 percent to $1.3607 . (Reporting by Steven C. Johnson; Editing by Theodore d'Afflisio)
