STOCKS ----------------------- The 30-share BSE index down 5.09 percent at 10,259.06 points and the 50-share NSE index down 4.82 percent at 3,177.45 points after global recession worries roiled overseas market. GOVERNMENT BONDS ------------------------------- The 2018 bond yield at 7.71 percent, from previous close of 7.91 percent, after the government and the central bank boosted cash availability in the banking system, which traders said freed more funds to buy bonds. RUPEE -------------- The rupee was at 48.70/48.72 per dollar, from the previous close of 48.525/48.540, following sharp losses in the local stock market, which triggered concerns of more foreign fund outflows. INTEREST RATE SWAPS INROIS ---------------------------- The benchmark five-year interest rate swap at 6.83/6.93 percent. CALL MONEY -------------------- Call money rate at 6.90/7.10 percent, from previous close of 10.00/10.25 percent, after the 100 basis point cut in cash reserve ratio by the central bank late on Wednesday released 400 billion rupees into the system. GOLD <0#MAU:> ------------- The December contract on the Multi Commodity Exchange of India at 13,149 rupees, down 36 rupees from the previous close.
