RTRS: Nikkei up 2.6 percent on yen, hopes for U.S. economy steps
TOKYO (Reuters) - The Nikkei average gained 2.6 percent on Tuesday, buoyed by exporters such as Canon Inc on a softer yen and amid hopes for more spending by the U.S. government to shore up the economy.
The Nikkei added 233.00 points to end the morning session at 9,238.59, extending a 3.6 percent gain logged the previous day.
