BLBG: India May Fail to Meet Budget Deficit Target, Chidambaram Says

Oct. 22 (Bloomberg) -- India may fail to meet the budget deficit target for the year ending March 31, Finance Minister Palaniappan Chidambaram said.
The government will try to meet the budget deficit target for the following year, Chidambaram told reporters in New Delhi today. The global credit crisis is putting pressure on finances, the minister said.
