BN: Crude regains strength in futures trading

NEW DELHI: Crude oil recovered 1.54 per cent in futures trading as traders indulged enlarging their positions in line with firming trend in global market. Crude oil for the most-active December month contract rose by 1.54 per cent to Rs 3,497 per barrel on the Multi Commodity Exchange. The contract recorded a business volume of 452 lots.

Similarly, the November month contract edged up by 1.21 per cent at Rs 3,435 with trading volumes of 6,572 lots.

Market experts said the rise in crude oil was mostly on the back of a firming trend in Asian markets on the eve of an OPEC meeting which may announce plans to cut production. New York's main contract, light sweet crude for December delivery, rose 10 cen ts to USD 66.85 a barrel. - PTI
