Oct. 23--The price of North Slope oil sold on West Coast open markets closed today at $63.79 a barrel, up $0.99 for the day. U.S. natural gas, at the Lower 48's Henry Hub, was $6.75 per million BTU today, down $0.19. Gold closed at $713.00 per ounce today on the New York Mercantile Exchange, down $20.00.
