RTRS: Stock futures rise on signs of thawing credit

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Stock futures edged higher on Wednesday as news pointing to a further easing in interbank lending rates buoyed hopes that confidence was returning to the credit markets.

The rise came a day after Wall Street roared to its second-best advance ever ahead of an expected interest rate cut by the Federal Reserve later on Wednesday.

S&P 500 futures edged up 2.80 points and were slightly above fair value, a formula that evaluates pricing by taking into account interest rates, dividends and time to expiration on the contract. Dow Jones industrial average futures rose 34 points, and Nasdaq 100 futures climbed 2.75 points.
