Copper prices increased in the future market today (October 29) supported by firming trends at London Metal Exchange and recovering global equity markets.
On MCX, Copper November 2008 contract moved upward by 2.28% to Rs 217.60 per kg (4.01 p.m, Wednesday) as compared to its previous closing at Rs 212.75 per kg. Copper February 2009 contract increased by 2.10% to Rs 221 per kg. It opened at Rs 216.60 as compared to its previous closing of Rs 216.45 per kg.
On NCDEX, Copper October 2008 contract rose 0.48% to Rs 210 per kg as compared to its previous closing of Rs 209 per kg.
Copper November 2008 contract moved upward 2.19% to Rs 219.70 per kg as compared to its previous closing of Rs 215 per kg. Copper December 2008 contract jumped higher by 3.30% to Rs 219 per kg as compared to its previous closing of Rs 212 per kg.
