MW: Stocks turn course mostly lower after manufacturing data

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- U.S. stocks trimmed gains on Monday after an index of U.S. manufacturing activity fell more than expected. Up more than 50 points ahead of the economic report, the Dow Jones Industrial Average {$indu] turned lower, and was recently off 5.34 points to 9,319.67. The S&P 500 fell 2.86 points to 965.89, while the Nasdaq Composite remained higher, up 6.3 points at 1,727.25.
