points, and the 50-share NSE index down 0.09 percent at
3,041.10 points, after recovering from steep early falls, but
lukewarm international markets continue to weigh.

GOVERNMENT BONDS ----------------------------------------------
The 2018 bond yield at 7.60 percent, from the previous
close of 7.56 percent, as investors trimmed positions ahead of
a $2.06 billion bond auction later in the week.
RUPEE --------
The rupee at 48.48/50 a dollar, from the previous close of
48.64/65, as some foreign banks were seen selling dollars in
the market, but dollar demand from importers kept a check on a
sharp rise.
INTEREST RATE SWAPS INROIS

The benchmark five-year interest rate swap at 6.60/6.68
percent.
CALL MONEY --------------------
Call money rate at 7.40/7.50 percent, from previous close
of 7.25/7.50, after outflows for last week's 100 billion rupees
bond auction drained some liquidity from the system, but cash
still quite comfortable after the CRR cut over the weekend.

The December contract on the Multi Commodity Exchange of
India at 11,578 rupees, down 36 rupees from the previous close.
