ET: Nifty slides below 3,000 mark
 
Markets have further lost ground in the last hour of the trading session on the back of all round selling witnessed in the scrips across the sectors. Sentiments were further dampened after the European markets started off with a negative bias. The FTSE and the DAX index were down by over 2% each.

At 3:00 pm (IST), the BSE 30-share Sensex lost 520 points at 10,104 and the NSE Nifty was down 152 points at 2,989.

Shares of Tata Motors have declined by over 6% to Rs180 after the S&P affirmed the company’s rating with negative outlook. The scrip has touched an intra-day high of Rs203 and a low of Rs179 and has recorded volumes of over 32,00,000 shares on NSE.

Shares of GAIL have slipped sharply by over 15% to Rs201 on the back of heavy selling witnessed in the counter. The scrip has touched an intra-day high of Rs244 and a low of Rs199 and has recorded volumes of over 36,00,000 shares on NSE.

Zen Technologies is frozen at 10% lower circuit at Rs109.30 after the company announced that it would purchase own fully paid equity shares of Rs10/- each at a maximum price of Rs110/- per equity share. The scrip has touched an intra-day high of Rs132.3 and a low of Rs109.3 and has recorded volumes of over 6,000 shares on BSE.
