LONDON (AP) _ The U.S. dollar was mostly higher against other major currencies in European trading Wednesday morning. Gold rose.
The euro traded at $1.2876, down from $1.2954 late Tuesday in New York.
Other dollar rates:
—98.93 Japanese yen, down from 99.69
—1.1680 Swiss francs, up from 1.1645
—1.1567 Canadian dollars, up from 1.1522
The British pound was quoted at $1.5905, down from $1.5933.
Gold traded in London at $753.25 per troy ounce up from $741.25 late Tuesday.
