PTI: Base metals remain down on weak global cues
 
NEW DELHI: Base metals on Wednesday continued to slide in the range of Rs 3 to Rs 10 per kg in the national capital on increased selling by stocki

sts influenced by weakening global trend.

Traders said increased selling by stockists influenced by weakening trend at London Metal Exchange mainly pulled down base metal prices.

Sluggish demand from consuming industries and rise in dollar against world's major currencies also put pressure on the base metal prices, they said.

Copper wire scrap, copper super d rod, copper wire bar and copper mixed scrap were remained under selling pressure and shed Rs 5 each at Rs 215, Rs 240, Rs 217 and Rs 225 per kg respectively.

Zinc ingot, lead ingot and lead imported followed suit and traded lower by Rs 3 each at Rs 55, Rs 48 and Rs 49 per kg respectively.

In line with general weakening trend, nickel and tin ingot also lost Rs 10 each at Rs 620-780 and Rs 780 per kg respectively.

Following were today's quotations per kg (in Rs): Tin ingot 780, zinc ingot (Hindustan) 55, nickel plate (4x4) 620-780, gun metal scrap 259, bell metal scrap 245, copper wire scrap 215, copper super d rod 240, copper wire bar 217, copper mixed scrap 225, Utensil scrap 252,Chadripital 229, brass sheet cutting 350, bullet scrap 245, Bharat scrap 240, accessories scrap 243, brass boring 222-235 and brass radiator scrap 195.

Lead ingot (Hindustan Zinc) 48, lead imported 49, aluminium ingots 112, sheet cutting 115, aluminium wire scrap 130 and aluminium utensils scrap 110.
