AP: Dollar Mostly Lower, Gold up in Morning Trading
 
US dollar mostly lower, gold rises in morning trading in Europe

The U.S. dollar was mostly lower against other major currencies in European trading Monday morning. Gold rose.

The euro traded at $1.2894, up from $1.2746 late Friday in New York.

Other dollar rates:

—99.42 Japanese yen, up from 98.11

—1.1734 Swiss francs, down from 1.1774

—1.1676 Canadian dollars, down from 1.1878

The British pound was quoted at $1.5787, up from $1.5701.

Gold traded in London at $751.75 per troy ounce, up from $735.25 late Friday.
