RTRS: UPDATE 1-India gold demand perks up on marriage buying
* Spot gold steady at $745.90 an ounce
* London Brent crude down at $57.40 a barrel LCOc1
* Rupee weak at 47.99 per dollar
MUMBAI, Nov 11 (Reuters) - India's gold demand moved up on Tuesday despite firm prices as retail buyers set out during marriage season, dealers said.
"Demand from the retail buyers is improving due to the ongoing marriage season," said Ashwin Choksi of Jamnadas M. Choksi Jewellers.
The wedding season, which started this month, will continue till early 2009.
Prices have increased a bit, but they are far below the record high of 14,320 rupees per 10 grams hit on Oct 10, said a dealer with a large private bank.
