RTRS: US STOCKS-Energy, Wal-Mart lift market at open
NEW YORK, Nov 13 (Reuters) - U.S. stocks opened higher on Thursday as rebounding oil prices lifted energy shares and Wal-Mart Stores Inc (WMT.N: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) offered some reassuring news about consumer spending.
The Dow Jones industrial average .DJI was up 101.87 points, or 1.23 percent, at 8,384.53. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index .SPX was up 11.37 points, or 1.33 percent, at 863.67.
