MW: U.S. stock futures under water after manufacturing data

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- U.S. stock futures stayed in negative territory after a measure of manufacturing activity in the New York region fell to a record low in October. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 71 points to 8,300. Those for the S&P 500 declined 7.9 points to 853.6, and Nasdaq 100 futures dropped 7 points to 1,148.5.
