RTRS: Europe stocks fall further; SocGen tumbles 12 pct
PARIS, Nov 21 (Reuters) - European stocks fell further in late trade on Friday, with pharma stocks taking a beating and fresh fears over the financial sector knocking down banking shares such as Societe Generale (SOGN.PA: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz).
At 1541 GMT, the FTSEurofirst 300 index of top European shares was down 2.3 percent at 762.89 points after falling as low as 760.69.
Novartis (NOVN.VX: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) was down 6.4 percent, Sanofi-Aventis (SASY.PA: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) fell 8.6 percent and Societe Generale (SOGN.PA: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) down 12 percent.
