LONDON (MarketWa tch) -- European shares jumped higher in early trading on Monday morning, taking back some of last week's losses, with oil producers gaining ground as BP shares climbed 3.1% and Total shares rose 2.7%. Of financials, Aegon shares climbed 4.04% after it said it will cut more costs, while Standard Chartered ) shares fell after it announced that it will issue shares to raise $2.66 billion. Overall, the U.K. FTSE 100 index climbed 2.2% to 3,863.53, the German DAX 30 index advanced 1.4% to 4,186.77 and the French CAC-40 index rose 2.3% to 2,947.89.
