MW: U.S. stock futures extend losses on weak Oct. durables data

LONDON (MarketWatch) -- U.S. stock index futures extended losses Wednesday after the U.S. Commerce Department reported a much larger-than-expected 6.2% decline in durable-goods orders in October. S&P 500 futures were down 17.30 points to 835.90, while Dow futures were down 127 points to 8,318 and Nasdaq 100 futures were off 9.25 points to 1,126.25. Economists surveyed by MarketWatch had expected an overall decline in durable orders of 2.5%. October consumer spending fell by 1% in October, the department reported, in line with expectations.
