RTRSl Australia commodity price index slips in Nov
SYDNEY, Dec 1 (Reuters) - The Reserve Bank of Australia's index of commodity prices fell for a third straight month in November when measured in special drawing rights, though a weak currency kept it at record highs in Australian dollar terms.
The RBA's index fell by 2.7 percent in special drawing rights terms to 253.2, following a revised 4.6 percent fall in October. The largest contributors to the fall in November were decreases in the prices of copper, aluminium, beef and veal, and gold.
In Australian dollar terms, the index rose 0.5 percent to 236.6, following a hefty 10.1 percent increase in October. The local dollar plunged in October lifting the value of commodities priced in U.S. dollars even as those prices fell. (Reporting by Wayne Cole; Editing by James Thornhill)
