MW: Natural Gas Index slides 5% as energy shares fall

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Energy stocks retreated with oil prices on Monday, with natural gas stocks leading the decline in early action. The Amex Natural Gas Index fell 5% to 387. The Amex Oil Index subtracted 4.7% to 922. Chesapeake Energy fell 7% to $15.97, continuing its losses after a 15% slide in the previous session. U.S.-listed shares of China Petroleum & Chemical Corp. dropped 6% to $62.75 after Goldman Sachs downgraded shares of the oil giant to sell.
