ET: Rupee ends 0.3% stronger at 50.15/16 vs dollar
The Indian rupee appreciated on Tuesday, December 2 after hitting an all-time low during trade, supported by intervention from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and dollar sales by private and foreign banks as local equities trimmed sharp early losses.
The partially convertible rupee settled 0.3% stronger to stand at 50.15/16 against greenback than its Monday`s close of 50.30/32. It had an intraday trough of 50.65.
The Sensex ended the day with a loss of 100.63 points, or 1.14% at 8,739.24 after touching a high of 8,785.04 and a low of 8,467.43.
