MW: Average U.S. retail gas prices fall to $1.77 a gallon

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Average U.S. retail unleaded gasoline prices fell 2 cents to $1.77 a gallon on Friday, according to the AAA Daily Fuel Gauge Report. A month ago, gasoline sold for $2.37 a gallon. A year ago, gasoline cost $3.03 a gallon.
