MUMBAI (Reuters) – The BSE Sensex provisionally ended up 2.18 percent on Monday, after sharp early gains were clipped on news of a small fire at Reliance Petroleum's new refinery.
The 30-share BSE index provisionally closed up 195.83 points at 9,161.03 after rising as much as 5.2 percent.
The 50-issue NSE index provisionally ended 2.65 percent higher at 2,786.20.
The fire at the Reliance Industries unit was put out and the complex was operating normally, a spokesman said.
