NPS: Dollar down, gold up in afternoon trading |

LONDON (AP) - The U.S. dollar was lower against other major currencies in European trading Monday afternoon. Gold rose.
The euro traded at $1.2910, up from $1.2691 late Friday in New York.
Other dollar rates:
-92.91 Japanese yen, down from 93.12
-1.2051 Swiss francs, down from 1.2224
-1.2553 Canadian dollars, down from 1.2797
The British pound was quoted at $1.4823, up from $1.4698.
Gold traded in London at $767.25 per troy ounce, up from $749.00 late Friday.
