LONDON – The U.S. dollar was mostly higher against other major currencies in European trading Tuesday morning. Gold rose.
The euro traded at $1.2820, down from $1.2955 late Monday in New York.

The British pound was quoted at $1.4753, down from $1.4948.
Gold traded in London at $771.00 per troy ounce, up from $767.25 late Monday.
