MUMBAI: A key index of the Indian stock exchange opened on Tuesday lower than its previous close, but later rose marginally.
The 30-share sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) opened at 9,794.48, a slight dip of 37.91 points over its close Monday at 9832.39. About half an hour after the opening, it was at 9,810.27.
The broader-based 50-share S&P CNX Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was hovering around the levels of its previous close at 2981.10.
