STOCKS .BSESN .NSEI ----------------------- The 30-share BSE index ended down 2.62 percent at 9,715.29 points and the 50-share NSE index closed down 2.87 percent at 2,954.35 points, as foreign funds sold frontline stocks on weak sentiment triggered by Satyam's now-abandoned acquisition deal. GOVERNMENT BONDS ------------------------------- The 2018 bond yield ended at 5.8 percent, down from Tuesday's close of 5.99 percent, as hopes of a domestic rate cut heightened after the U.S. Federal Reserve cut benchmark rates to near zero. RUPEE -------------- The rupee closed at 47.67/69 per dollar, from Tuesday's close of 47.92/93, after the U.S. Federal Reserve cut rates to as low as zero, weakening it against major Asian currencies. INTEREST RATE SWAPS INROIS ---------------------------- Benchmark five-year swap rate down at 4.64/72 percent from 4.74/4.83 percent on Tuesday, tracking bond yields. CALL MONEY -------------------- Call money rate ended unchanged from the previous close at 6.40/50 percent, as outflow concerns were offset by sufficient cash in the banking system. GOLD <0#MAU:> ------------- The February contract MAUG9 on the Multi Commodity Exchange of India at 13,070 rupees, up 140 rupees from the previous close.
