MW: Energy stocks opens lower ahead of inventory data
NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Energy stocks fell with crude oil prices ahead of an expected rise in U.S. petroleum inventories. Crude futures fell 32 cents in recent action, to trade just above $43 a barrel. The Amex Oil Index fell 0.5% to 987. The Amex Natural Gas Index dropped fractionally at 385. Meanwhile, the Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped more than 100 points as euphoria in the previous session dried up.
