The 30-share BSE index up 1.91 percent at 9,900.89 points
and the 50-share NSE index up 1.93 percent at 3011.25 points,
as lower-than-expected inflation figure boosted sentiment.
Th annual inflation rate fell to 6.84 percent in the first
week of December from 8 percent in the previous week, missing
the Reuters analyst poll estimate of 7.49 percent.

GOVERNMENT BONDS -------------------------------
The 2018 bond yield at 5.56 percent, down from Wednesday\'s
close of 5.80 percent, as the lower inflation number increased
the likelihood of further rate cuts by the central bank.
RUPEE --------------
The rupee at 47.19/20 per dollar from Wednesday\'s close of
47.67/69, following the dollar\'s weakness against some Asian
currencies and firmer stock market.
INTEREST RATE SWAPS INROIS

Benchmark five-year swap rate at 4.57/62 percent from
Wednesday\'s close of 4.64/74 percent, tracking bond yields.
CALL MONEY --------------------
Call money rate at 6.50/6.60 from Wednesday\'s close of
6.40/50 percent, as banks continued to borrow funds on behalf
of companies making advance tax payments.

The February contract MAUG9 on the Multi Commodity
Exchange of India at 13,138 rupees, down 32 rupees from the
previous close.
