LONDON - The U.S. dollar was mixed against other major currencies in European trading Monday morning. Gold rose.
The euro traded at US$1.3978, up from $1.3887 late Friday in New York.
Other dollar rates:
Tokyo - 90 Japanese yen, up from 89.45
Zurich - 1.0992 Swiss francs, down from 1.1073
London - 1.2119 Canadian dollars, down from 1.2221
In Toronto, the Canadian dollar opened at 82.51 cents US, up 0.74 of a cent from Friday. The U.S. dollar stood at 121.20 cents Cdn, down 1.10 cents.
The British pound was quoted at $1.4776, down from $1.4859.
Gold traded in London at $846 per troy ounce, up from $835.75 late Friday.
