MW: U.S. stocks maintain modest gains after housing data
NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- U.S. stock futures maintained Tuesday's gains after the Commerce Department said new home sales declined to more than 17-year lows in November and a trade group said the resale of single-family dwellings dropped 8.6% during the same period. The Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 39.19 points to 8,558.96. The S&P 500 gained 4.02 points to 875.65, while the Nasdaq Composite rose 11.79 points to 1,544.14.
