LONDON (MarketWatch) -- European shares opened in the green on Monday as trading resumed following last week's holiday. Oil majors performed strongly, with BP shares up 2.7% and Total shares up 1.2% as crude-oil futures moved up $1.73 to $39.43 a barrel in electronic trading. Overall the U.K. FTSE 100 index climbed 0.9% to 4,255.94, the German DAX 30 index rose 1% to 4,676.33 and the French CAC-40 advanced 0.9% to 3,147.23.
