AP: LME Cu hits fresh four-year-low on stock increase
Copper prices dropped to fresh four-year-lows in the official session on the London Metal Exchange on Tuesday as earlier support from the weaker US dollar evaporated.
Three-month copper fell to $2,849/50 per tonne compared with Monday’s official price of $2,880/82 per tonne on stock increases and a lack of any positive news.
“LME metals seem to be transfixed more on the dreary macro economic headlines, and in this regard, there is little out there that could be considered inspiring - or bullish,” one analyst said.
