The value of rupee against dollar in the inter-bank market appreciated by paisa 2, as the dollar today closed at Rs79.08.
Forex market dealers said that the dollar in the inter-bank market today was also seen selling at Rs78.90. Analysts said that the import bill decline and the rising foreign exchange reserves gave strength to the rupee stabilization. On the other hand, dollar in open market is selling at Rs79.30 and being bought at Rs78.80.
