The Sensex after opening negative in the last session, moved up into the positive to trade on a flat note. Buying was also witnessed in Midcap and Smallcap. Metal and banking stocks traded higher, while Consumer durables stocks edged lower.
BSE Midcap and Smallcap index rose 0.61% and 0.59% respectively.
Indian stock market belled the day on a negative note after a rise of 3.19% on the previous working day. The 30-share index, BSE Sensex opened with a loss of 17.22 points, at 10,258.38 on Tuesday.
In the previous day session, the Sensex ended with a gain of 317.38 points, or 3.19%. The 30-share index, Sensex after gaining 74.70 yesterday, opened on a flat note on Tuesday.
