U.S stocks fell at the open on Friday as sign of further deterioration in the labor market fueled concerns that the recession is deepening.
* A profit warning from Dow component Chevron (CVX.N), whose shares fell 2.1 percent, dragged energy shares lower.
* The Dow Jones industrial average .DJI was down 72.56 points, or 0.83 percent, at 8,669.90. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index .SPX was down 9.51 points, or 1.05 percent, at 900.22. The Nasdaq Composite Index .IXIC was down 19.56 points, or 1.21 percent, at 1,597.45. (Editing by James Dalgleish)
