Prices of nickel and tin today moved down up to Rs 10 per kg in the national capital on increased selling by stockists triggered by weakening global trend.
Marketmen said increased selling by stockists amid weakening trend on the London Metal Exchange following mounting inventories and demand worries mainly led to a fall in select base metal prices in the national capital.
Nickel and tin ingot suffered the most by losing Rs 10 each at Rs 750 and Rs 667-827 per kg respectively largely on weak at London Metal Exchange last night. Lead ingot and lead imported also declined by Rs 5 each to Rs 70 and Rs 77 per kg respectively.
At LME, nickel fell 575 dollar to 10,700 dollar a tonne, lead dropped by 29 dollar to 1,150 dollar a tonne and Tin fell 180 dollar to 11,420 dollar a tonne.
