The February contract on the Multi Commodity Exchange of
India at 13,437 rupees, up 340 rupees from the previous close.

The 30-share BSE index ended down 2.45 percent at 9,100.55
points and the 50-share NSE index closed down 1.74 percent at
2,796.60 points, on fresh worries about a global economic
crisis, with losses led by Reliance Industries and financial
stocks.

GOVERNMENT BONDS -------------------------------
The 2018 bond yield ended at 5.68 percent, from previous
close of 5.60 percent, as investors pared positions ahead of
the central bank's policy meet next week.
RUPEE --------------
The rupee at 49.20/22 per dollar, from the previous close
of 48.70/71, as losses in domestic shares raised concerns of
more foreign fund outflows, while the dollar's strength
overseas weighed.
INTEREST RATE SWAPS INROIS
----------------------------
The benchmark five-year interest rate swap closed at
4.88/4.95 percent compared with Monday's close of 4.87/4.94
percent.
CALL MONEY --------------------
Call money rate closed at 4.20/4.30 percent compared with
Monday's close of 4.30/4.40 percent on surplus cash in the
banking system after a cut in reserve requirements came into
effect over the weekend.
