RTRS: Dollar trims losses as Geithner affirms strong dollar
The dollar trimmed its losses against the yen on Thursday after U.S. Treasury Secretary nominee Timothy Geithner affirmed that a strong U.S. dollar is in the nation's interests.
The dollar rose to 88.52 yen from 88.30. It was last at 88.40, down 1.2 percent on the day.
