Nickel prices today rose by Rs 5 per kilo on the wholesale metal market here largely on account of increased demand from steel makers and other bulk consumers.
Other base metals, however, held unchanged in the absence of any worthwhile activity.
Marketmen said pick up in demand from steel makers and electroplating units mainly pushed up nickel prices in the national capital.
Nickel plate 4x4 traded Rs 5 higher at Rs 680-840 per kg.
