BLBG: British Pound Advances Against Euro, Rebounds Versus Dollar
The pound climbed for a third day versus the euro, strengthening 0.9 percent to 91.61 pence as of 11:36 a.m. in London. It earlier weakened to 92.92 pence.
Against the dollar, the pound erased its losses, rising 0.4 percent to $1.4309.
“I don’t see this move higher being sustained,” said Ian Stannard, a senior currency strategist in London at BNP Paribas SA. “The news and all the economic date we’re seeing is still negative for the pound. The optimism that we’ve seen in the equity markets this week is starting to fade.”
