RTRS: Europe stocks dragged down by oil shares at mid-session
European shares reversed earlier gains to trade 0.8 percent lower at mid-session on Friday, dragged down by oil shares and banks.
At 1247 GMT the pan-European FTSEurofirst 300 index .FTEU3 fell to 790.41 points in volatile trade, down from a day's high of 804.32 points.
Oil majors BP (BP.L), Royal Dutch Shell (RDSa.L) and Total (TOTF.PA) shed between 1.3 and 3.4 percent as crude oil prices fell 0.5 percent towards $41 a barrel.
Also weighing down on Shell, Credit Suisse cut its target price on the stock.
In the banks sector Santander (SAN.MC) fell 3 percent, UBS (UBSN.VX) dropped 2.6 percent and Deutsche Bank (DBKGn.DE) shed 2.1 percent.
