MW: Euro-zone Dec. retail sales flat, down 1.6% on year
Retail sales volume across the euro-zone was flat in December after a revised 0.1% decline in November, the statistical agency Eurostat reported Tuesday. Compared to December 2007, sales volume was down 1.6%, after a 2.6% annualized decline in November. Consensus expectations were for December sales to fall 0.3% on the month and 1.3% on an annual basis.
