The 30-share BSE index ended up 0.66 percent at 9,647.47
points and the 50-share NSE index closed up 0.50 percent at
2,934.50 points, in choppy trade as investors awaited cues
ahead of likely stimulus measures in an interim budget next
week.

GOVERNMENT BONDS -------------------------------
The 2018 bond yield ended at 6.49 percent, from previous
close of 6.33 percent, after a finance ministry official said
the government will borrow an additional 460 billion rupees via
bonds in the current financial year ending March.
RUPEE --------------
The rupee closed at 48.72/73 per dollar, weaker than its
previous close of 48.57/58, tracking a broad dollar rally
overseas, while a shaky stock market also weighed on sentiment.
INTEREST RATE SWAPS INROIS
----------------------------
The benchmark five-year interest rate swap at 4.78/83
percent, from its previous close of 4.82/87.
CALL MONEY --------------------
Call money ended at 4.00/20 percent, from its previous
close of 4.10/15 percent, due to low demand for funds in the
second week of the reporting fortnight.
GOLD MAUJ9
-------------
The April contract on the Multi Commodity Exchange of India
at 13,985 rupees, up 47 rupees from the previous close.
