RTRS: European indexes seen down 0.8-1.3 pct-bookmakers
European shares are set to open lower on Wednesday, according to financial bookmakers, on investors concern that a revamped plan by the United States to shore up banks may not be enough to alleviate the credit crisis.
Financial spreadbetters expected Britain's FTSE 100 .FTSE to open down 33 to 36 points, or as much as 0.9 percent, Germany's DAX to open 36 to 38 points lower, or as much as 0.8 percent, and France's CAC-40 .FCHI to be down 32 to 39 points in the open, or as much as 1.3 percent.
The pan-European FTSEurofirst 300 .FTEU3 closed down 2.9 percent on Tuesday.
