Select base metals, led by nickel, today fell up to Rs 10 per kg in the national capital on increased selling by stockists, triggered by weak global trend.
Selling pressure picked up after reports of meltdown in base metal prices on the London Metal Exchange as inventories of copper and nickel rose to record level.
At wholesale market here, nickel 4x4 suffered the most by losing Rs 10 to Rs 695-855 per kg.
Copper wire scrap, copper super-D-rod, copper wire bar and copper mixed scrap moved down by Rs 2 each to Rs 228, Rs 250, Rs 255 and Rs 201 per kg respectively.
In line with general weakening trend, zinc ingot lost Rs 3 at Rs 75 per kg.
